My City

I often meet people who say to me " Long ago, I came to Dunedin for a couple of years, and look: I'm still here." This is an enchanting place whose hold gets stronger the more you get acquainted with its intoxicating mix of natural beauty, architecture, wildlife, and culture. It's small enough to be anywhere in 10 minutes, but large enough to host ballet and theatre and live music. It's a city founded by doughty Presbyterians with a passion for education and strong community. Soon after its founding it was inundated by entrepreneutrial, adventurous, free thinking gold miners. Both of these cultural streams have made it the extraordinary place it is today.As for me, I came here in 1998 for a couple of years, and look, I'm still here.
