Who? Me?

Photography as a way of being present

For most of my life I have been an Anglican priest, with a particular interest in meditation and contemplative prayer. Since retiring in 2017 I have spent much time leading retreats and helping people on an individual basis as they develop their own spirituality.  Some of every day is usually spent with my camera

Photography and me

We all  live in a multi-sensory, multidimensional reality that is constantly changing. Our own inner filters prevent us from seeing the wonders of the universe which are always and everywhere around us. A camera can't possibly hope to capture that reality, but in the act of trying to preserve a tiny sliver of what we experience in the form of a flat, two dimensional image, photography can help us to be aware of our own inner editing processes and help us to be more fully present to our  surroundings.

I take pictures, because photography helps me  to know what is truly important. It helps me show that to others.
